Engineering is the practical application of science for use of mankind while Technology is the name of continuous improvement over the existing state of Engineering.

Learning to make a diesel engine would be part of Mechanical engineering but Mechanical Technology means finding better ways in its design, manufacturing and operations with lesser cost , more efficiency and better output and life and it should be demonstratable. If you can increase efficiency by some percentage or reduce the cost , size , time of production etc of a diesel engine for same performance, that will be called Technology. This way we can say a complete new invention will fall under Engineering while any further improvement will be called technology. In normal use also technique word means some method for better action.

Program: - Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech)

Duration: - 4 Years

Eligibility: - Passed 10+2 Examination with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects alongwith one of Chemistry / Biology and has obtained atleast 45% marks (42.75% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.

Lateral Entry : - Lateral Entry to second year of B.Tech Program for the Candidates with following Eligibility : -


A. Passed Diploma Examination from an AICTE approved Institution ; with atleast 50% marks ( 45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in appropriate brances of Engineering / Technology.

B. Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized university as defined by UGC, with at leaset 50% marks ( 45% in case ofcandidates belonging to reserved category) and Passed XII standard with mathematics as a subject.

C. Provided that the students belonging to B.Sc. Stream, shall clear the subjects of Engineering Mechanics of the first year engineering program alongwith the second year subjects.

D. Provided further that the students belonging to B.Sc Stream shall be considered only after filling the supplementary seats in this category with students belonging to the diploma stream.

E. Provided further that the students, who have passed Diploma in Engineering & Technology from an AICTE approved institution or B.Sc. Degree from a recognised university as defined by UGC shall also be eligible for admission to the first year Engineering Degree Courses subject to the condition that vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted. However the admissions shall be based strictly on the eligibility criteria as mentioned in A,B, D and E above.

Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)

Computer Science is the study of information and computation along with their implementation and application in computer system. It is a major part of Information & Communication Technology, which is bringing revolutionary changes in our social set up, entertainment system and industrial applications. The Department of CSE aims at providing education in data processing, computer communications, network, programming in languages, multimedia, microprocessors, peripheral interface design, artificial intelligence, simulation ERP and software tools. The curriculum is designed to train the students in developing application programme (Software) and designing and developing computing systems (Hardware).

Career Options in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE):

Computer Science Engineering offers a satisfying and rewarding career and remains one of the most popular streams. CSE Graduates have excellent employement prospects in computer design & developments, IT infrastructure, defence applications, health care system, communication network, internet development etc. Jobs for Computer Engineers may also include R&D, system management, image processing, tracking surveillance, biomedical engineering etc.

Department of Automobile Engineering (AE)

Automobile Engineering trains students in designing, developing, manufacturing and repairing of automobiles. The demand for automobile engineering is growing with the expansion of automobile industries and growing demand of vehicles. Increasing concern for pollution and fuel efficiency has set standards of quality for example, making the vehicle Euro-efficient for automobile engineers. The course curriculum is designed to teach students all aspects of moving vehicles, their construction, repair and maintenance.

Career Options in Automobile Engineering (AE):

Automobile Engineers have employment opportunities in automobile manufacturing industry, in maintenance and service, private transport companies and Defense Service etc. These engineers have self-employment opportunities also as they can set up their own automobile garages or maintenance workshops.

Department of Information Technology (IT)

Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)

Electronics and Communication Engineering is the study of transmitting, processing and receiving of information through electronic devices. ECE is one of the most popular branches of Engineering using the technology of Information and Communication (ICE) sector to bring about radical changes in the field of communication, entertainment and human relationships. Department of Electrical Engineering (EE)

The fundamental concept of electrical engineering includes circuit theory, electrical & electronic devices and communication systems. Electrical engineering g thus deals with the study and application of electrical systems for use in different environments. Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME)

Mechanical Engineering is an engineering discipline that involves the application of the principles of physics for analysis, design, manufacturing and maintenance system. Mechanical engineers work to improve the design, safety and energy efficiency of the machines that support industry and society. ME degree programme is based on a strong core of fundamental studies in engineering, science, designing, computing and management that will provide graduates with lifelong skills in these disciplines.

Workshops : Learning is not complete without hands on experience. The central workshop consists of various shops for the practice of fitting, carpentry, smithy, forging, welding and foundry.
